‘Tis the Season

Thinking of giving or receiving a cosmetic procedure this holiday season? You’re not alone. With cosmetic procedures at an all-time high many people are asking for, or planning to give gift certificates for aesthetic cosmetic procedures from Botox to breast lifts. And, it’s not just a gift for women; men are also requesting procedures to keep up a more youthful appearance.

So, if you’re thinking of asking for a cosmetic “refresher,” you’re not alone. You can drop a few hints and maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised this holiday. Just remember, a cosmetic procedure should be requested by the individual themselves; never done to fulfill someone else’s image of you (or yours of someone else).

Often, people elect to have a cosmetic procedure before the holiday in order to have a more youthful appearance during the festivities. If you’re looking to give yourself an early gift, contact Amae Plastic Surgery Center or watch for our holiday specials this season. Gift certificates are also available for plastic surgery in Michgan, so give us a call at (855) 335-7200 today.

Recent Study Shows the Effectiveness of a Face Lift

A study recently conducted in England and Scotland shows that over ¾ of facelift patients look younger five years after surgery than before they had the surgery. The study used a range of objective and subjective measures, including measuring jowl height and chin to neck angle as well as an overall subjective measure of the participants appearance. The findings indicate that 76 percent of patients will still look younger 5-1/2 years after their facelift (than prior to the facelift), showing strong evidence that facelifts provide excellent long-term aesthetic improvements.

The study is scheduled to be published in the December issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
