A recent US-based clinical study was conducted that concluded MENTOR MemoryShape Gel Breast Implants were extremely safe and highly effective product for breast augmentation.This 10-year long medical study involved 955 patients to track the safety of MENTOR® MemoryShape Gel Breast Implants.
The publication, which is entitled ‘Mentor Contour Profile Gel Implants: Clinical Outcomes at 10 Years,’ determined that MENTOR® MemoryShape® Implants (made using SILTEX® Texture) have several areas of proven exceptional performance.
High patient satisfaction and surgeon satisfaction was reported in this study when MENTOR® MemoryShape® Implants were used. This is largely in part due to the low risk of complications with this brand of breast implant.
MemoryShape® Implants had among the lowest rates of capsular contracture, rupture, and implant rotation.
Additionally, there were NO reported cases of breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), as of the date the study was published. This is hugely important, as some other brands of breast implants have been associated with this condition.
Also, over the course of the 10 year study there were NO reported cases of a complication called “double capsule” – where a capsule develops around the implant while a second capsule connects to the surrounding tissue – often requiring additional surgery.
