Comparing Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatments: Radiofrequency vs. Laser (Part 1)

Non-invasive, non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation is an amazing new technology that helps eliminate urinary leaks and improves vaginal health, tightness and sexual sensation. But with a few different technologies available on the market – marketed under different brand names – how does a women know which treatment is best for her?

Dr. Ali has already helped hundreds of women in the Detroit area stop bladder leaks & improve sexual intimacy with just a single 30 minute vaginal rejuvenation treatment. In this article he explains the differences between the two primary vaginal tightening technologies.

Two Different Vaginal Rejuvenation Technologies

Although there are a number of cute sounding “brand names” there are basically two types of Vaginal Rejuvenation Technologies:

  • Radiofrequency
  • CO2 Laser

While both are used to rejuvenate and tighten the vagina, as well as treat bladder leaks (stress incontinence), the underlying methods are different.

Laser treatments have been in use slightly longer. This technology uses “ablation” in which the laser creates microscopic incisions in the vaginal tissue. The body’s healing response to these tiny cuts, stimulates collagen production, thickening the vaginal skin over time – as well as increasing lubrication and elasticity.

Radiofrequency vaginal treatment devices, on the other hand, use deep penetrating heat to stimulate collagen production, which also thickens the vagina walls, and improves, muscle tone and blood flow and sensation.

Vaginal Rejuvenation Brands: Which is Which?

With the various brand names out there, it can be confusing to keep the different type, features and benefits oif each treatment straight!

Radiofrequency Vaginal Rejuvenation Brands: Geneveve (Viveve), ThermiVa (Thermi or ThermiGen)

Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Brands: DiVa, MonaLisa Touch, FemiLift

Vaginal Rejuvenation: Number of Treatments

The treatment time with Radiofrequency vaginal rejuvenation takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Laser treatments only take about 3 to 5 minutes.

However – and this is a big factor – radiofrequency vaginal rejuvenation (when performed using Geneveve) only requires a SINGLE treatment. ALL laser treatments (DiVa, MonaLisa Touch, FemiLift ) currently require 3 treatments, spaced  4 to 6 weeks apart.
